DIRECTIONS FROM THE M4 COMING FROM LONDON

Take the M4 out of London.
Come off at Junction 7.
The slip road will take you along a dual carriageway to a roundabout.
Turn left at the roundabout onto the A4 heading west towards Maidenhead.
After roughly 2 miles you will go over Maidenhead bridge.
Straight after the bridge there is a mini-roundabout.
Turn right at the mini-roundabout, taking a note of your mileage, and head north along the A4094 towards Cookham. The River Thames will be on your right until Boulters Lock.
The road will take you through a residential area and then across some fields.
After 2.5 miles measured from the mini-roundabout by the bridge, turn left into the High Street in Cookham village. (If you come to another bridge over the River Thames you will have gone too far.)
Go down the High Street and across a small moor.
Go straight over 2 mini-roundabouts which are at either end of a very narrow section of the road with 4 speed humps.
Go past some shops and over a level crossing.
After the level crossing, turn immediately left into High Road by the car park and an Indian restaurant.
Follow the road round a bend to the right and up a slight hill.
Go past a school on your left. After the school the road narrows.
Go past New Road and Halldore Hill on your right and Spencers Lane on your left.
Just after Spencers Lane you will see a white wall on your right.
Orchard House is the next house on your right hand side after this wall. It has a beech hedge and a gravel drive. Please park your car in the drive.


DIRECTIONS FROM THE M4 COMING FROM READING

Come off the M4 at Junction 8/9.
Take the first turning on your left onto the A404 heading for Maidenhead West and the M40.
Come off at the second exit for A4 Maidenhead and Reading.
Turn right at the roundabout onto the A4 in the direction of Maidenhead.
Directly following this roundabout there is a smaller roundabout. Turn left at this roundabout towards Henley and Pinkneys Green.
Take the first right to Pinkneys Green. It is easy to miss this turning!
Go through Pinkneys Green and past the cricket club on your left.
At the T junction, turn left onto the A308 towards Marlow.
Take the first right into Winter Hill Road towards Cookham Dean.
After just under a mile turn right at the fork into Choke Lane.
Turn left into Spring Lane.
This road will turn to the right and take you past St John the Baptist Church on your right. Keep following this road, which is now called Hills Lane, as it twists to the right and to the left on a dangerous bend and goes downhill past Uncle Tom’s Cabin.
At the T junction just over half a mile from the church, turn right into Dean Lane.
There are some fields on the right.
Just before a built up area turn right up a hill into Whyteladyes Lane.
At the brow of the hill take the first left turn into High Road.
Orchard House is the fourth house on your left. It has a beech hedge and a gravel drive. Please park your car in the drive.

DIRECTIONS FROM M40 VIA BOURNE END

Come off at Junction 4. At the roundabout above the motorway take the A404, a dual carriageway, heading for Marlow, Maidenhead and the M4.
Come off at the first exit for Marlow and Bourne End.
Turn left at the roundabout towards Bourne End. Go through Bourne End.
At the top of Bourne End High Street turn right at the mini roundabout heading towards Cookham.
Go over the River Thames.
Once over the bridge the road bends round to the left by the church and then to the right.
After the bend to the right take the first right turn into Cookham High Street by Stanley Spencer’s Gallery.
Go down the High Street, across a small moor, straight over a mini-roundabout after which the road narrows and there are 4 speed bumps.
Go straight over another mini-roundabout, past a shopping parade and over a level crossing.
After the level crossing, turn immediately left by the car park just before the Indian restaurant. This is High Road.
Follow the road round a bend to the right and up a slight hill.
Go past a school on your left. After the school the road narrows.
Go past New Road and Halldore Hill on your right and Spencers Lane on your left.

DIRECTIONS FROM M40 VIA BISHAM

Come off at Junction 4 on the M40. On the roundabout above the motorway take the A404, a dual carriageway, heading for Marlow, Maidenhead and the M4.
After about 2 miles you will come to a roundabout. Turn right here for Bisham.
Go through Bisham.
Just before the Complete Angler Hotel and the bridge over the River Thames into Marlow, turn right into Quarry Wood Road.
This road goes under the dual carriageway.
Go up Quarry Wood hill. It has some sharp bends. Keep following the road round. At the top of the hill turn sharply to the left into Dean Lane. You will start to go downhill.
You will pass Herries School and the Chequers on your left and a little further downhill Hills Lane on your right.
After Hills Lane you will see some fields on your right.
Just before a built up area turn right up a hill into Whyteladyes Lane.
